Gray's Shadow, page 30
part #4 of Kings of Hell MC Series
When he closed his eyes, his other senses recognized and craved nothing but Shadow. He couldn’t smell the beer or tobacco smoke anymore, the only thing his ears picked up was Shadow’s moans, and his nerve endings focused on communicating to his brain that Shadow was touching him.
Was it over? Was he still coming? He wasn’t even sure anymore.
Shadow bit Gray’s ear, surprising him by bumping his fist against Gray’s, as if celebrating a job well done. For a while time had been an abstract concept, because how could there be a future or past, when he and Shadow just existed?
But he was back. A heaving, spent mess.
“I’ve had so many dreams of filling you with my cum,” Shadow muttered into Gray’s hair, still clinging to Gray’s back, as if sweat and warmth were the glue to hold them together.
Gray whimpered, pulling Shadow’s hand to his lips and pressing a kiss to every single finger. His eyes itched, but not knowing what to do about it, he hugged the thick forearm to his chest. All the thoughts in his head were pure sap, but they were also honest. “I feel like I’m complete again.”
“Do you want to just stay like this?”
For the first time in Gray’s life, a lover truly understood and accepted him, and if it were only up to him, he’d have stayed here forever and fucked Shadow again as soon as they were good to go. But the rubies could only be tracked for so long, and if he wanted this happiness to last forever, he couldn’t just focus on what he wanted here and now.
“We need the rubies,” he whispered, resting under Shadow, with the softening cock still inside.
Shadow took his hand off Gray’s, but their flesh didn’t part easily, as if shadowy cobwebs had managed to grow between them and needed to be ripped apart.
Gray mewled at the loss. It stung almost as if he’d been hurt by static, but he was too weak to stop Shadow from pulling out of him and just slumped to the blanket. Gooey heat trickled out of him, and he squeezed his sphincter, irrationally desperate to keep the whole load of cum inside him.
Emotions ran free, making him so rattled tears were just around the corner. His whole body kept fighting tremors as if he was getting the flu.
“I know. I know.” Shadow wrapped all three arms around Gray and kissed him. One of his hands slid to Gray’s ass, and teased the slippery opening until it let in two fingers.
The penetration was so delicious Gray put his leg across Shadow’s hip, clinging to him all over again. Was this desperation what Shadow felt whenever Gray had rejected him? It hurt. It hurt so much, and now Gray had caught it too, and he already knew he’d be devastated to see Shadow leave.
Only one month left.
Gray pulled away from the kiss and buried his face in Shadow’s neck, fighting the intense feeling of loss that could only be soothed by Shadow’s closeness.
“I don’t want to go, but we need to. I can’t lose you,” Gray whimpered, not even embarrassed by the tremble in his voice anymore.
Their lips slotted together without either of them having to suggest it, and once again the world turned perfectly idyllic.
“Finally mine. I will do everything I can to stay with you,” Shadow whispered after a kiss that communicated the same without words.
Gray swallowed and gently squeezed his sphincter around Shadow’s fingers, wanting to feel them once more before their bodies parted. “Me too. I need you to stay,” he said, pulling himself up, because they would never move otherwise.
Shadow sighed deeply, but let Gray go. He didn’t need to say anything, because they both knew one another’s hearts. Getting used to physically parting after experiencing something so fulfilling would likely take a while.
“I want to do this all the time,” Shadow said with a big grin, still lounging on the sofa, as if he hoped for Gray to call off their job. But if they were to find the stolen transport, it was high time to move. At least after satisfying the frantic need to physically connect with Shadow, Gray’s urges mellowed out, and he could once more think straight.
Still, the sight of that strong body stretched right next to the damp spot left behind by white and black cum made following plans impossibly hard. Gray didn’t want to take any chances, so he kept physical distance, knowing that he needed to be the one to lead.
Cleaning up didn’t take too long, since the room had a sink and paper towels, and then they were off, riding into the night on Gray’s motorcycle, their bodies pressed together. Gray would have hated being stuck in a car. At least on a bike, Shadow was a constant presence, which in turn made thinking both easier and harder. Gray didn’t even know which one it was.
All that mattered was that they were heading for the spot where the shootout had taken place. Shadow would sniff out the jewels, they would get them back, and all would be good again with Shadow’s belly full of rubies, and Gray’s heart full of life.
Chapter 21
Shadow put his chin on Gray’s shoulder and kissed his ear, rubbing his nose against the warm, delicate skin behind it. So late at night, the road was virtually empty, and the dingy strip joint that smelled of rubies only had a handful of cars parked in the lot behind it. It had been surprisingly easy to find this place, and now that they were almost at the doorstep, Gray was feeling both excited and uneasy. Their future relied on what happened tonight, but if the scent that led them here was so strong, then there were likely many rubies inside—natural, polished, and in the correct color. An extended life for Shadow locked in red gemstones.
“Why don’t we wait for the others if we already know where the rubies are?” Shadow asked and slid one of his hands down to Gray’s dick. “I can think of many things we could do in the meantime.”
The warmth cupping his privates spread quickly all around Gray’s stomach and thighs, once again pushing him to leave the borders of his own body and meld with the man whose black blood and sperm were now in his system. Shadow was perfectly aligned with him. Chest to back. Thigh to thigh. Ass to groin.
It was dangerously distracting, but he was high on Shadow and couldn’t deny himself a micro-dose of him, even on the threshold of enemy territory.
When the hand tightened around his dick, he shut his eyes and counted to three, calling upon rational thoughts, but his mental resources had been eaten up by having to resist Shadow’s earlier advances.
Would it be so bad to let go for fifteen minutes? Push Shadow behind the nearest tree and suck his thick, delicious cock until it exploded down his tongue and fed him that gooey black juice?
Yes. Yes, it would be. Gray had learned long ago that work should come before play, and he would not ignore the principles he lived by just because Shadow’s presence was making him dizzy with lust.
“They want to regroup and rest tonight,” he said, squeezing Shadow’s wrist and pulling it away from his crotch.
Shadow’s warm breath tickled Gray’s ear. “A little wait won’t hurt anyone, will it?” He pressed his groin to Gray’s tailbone as if his suggestions hadn’t been obvious enough before. “Remember how good it was? Your body was so tight I wasn’t even sure my cock would fit, but it did. It fit perfectly. Deep in your gorgeous ass until I left my cum inside of you. Do you still feel it?” Shadow asked, pulling on Gray’s earlobe with his teeth.
An uncontrollable shudder went through Gray. A broken whine left his lips. It was so fucking hot. If it were only about him, he’d have gladly stayed in bed with Shadow for days, forgetting all his obligations and even his own rules. But he couldn’t, because this wasn’t just about him.
It was about Shadow, who did not have the same sense of passing time as Gray.
“Not now, please. Let go.” He hated how weak it sounded, but he did feel supremely weak right now.
Shadow let out a deep sigh of discontent and pulled away a few inches, leaving Gray in need of touch. It would be a lose-lose game until Gray got used to the effect Shadow’s presence had on him following their physical bonding.
“Fine. But I don’t like it. It’s dangerous. Beast was shot, the others didn’t manage to fight off those people even though there were more of them then. And now we’re to go in there like mice into a house full of cats?”
Gray stared at the neon logo depicting a dancing woman in skimpy underwear. Parts of it lit up at different times, creating the illusion of movement. That was exactly what he needed for distraction. Few things were as much of a turnoff for Gray as commercialized sex. He’d never understood its appeal, even in the version aimed at gay men.
The no-frills building with red walls promised exactly what he needed to forget about the wonderful throbbing deep inside him.
“What if this is our only chance though? They might as well ship those rubies off by tomorrow, and I bet they think they covered their tracks. We’re at an advantage if they don’t expect danger.”
Shadow got off the bike but his hand still found its way to Gray’s nape, stroking it so delightfully Gray would have purred if the situation were less straining on his nerves. He could hardly believe that he’d taken the plunge into whatever his relationship with Shadow would be, but he did, and now he needed to take on all the responsibilities that came with it.
“What if you get hurt?” Shadow asked.
Gray pointed a finger at his chest, somewhat offended that Shadow doubted his skills. “Me? Why would I get hurt? I’ve been doing these kinds of jobs for years. And now I have my arm back too. It’s all good. We’ll just go in and pretend we’re there to see the girls. Nothing dangerous.”
“Maybe…” Shadow’s fingers dipped all the way to Gray’s jaw, and he leaned down for a kiss that quickly deepened. His hot tongue was pure bliss, and the pleasure once more drizzled down Gray’s chest, all the way to his cock, which Shadow cupped in his hand.
The sense of weightlessness was overwhelming. Gray’s thoughts became rapid and sketchy until they resembled unreadable scribbles. His dick hardened, and his hole, which was still tender from earlier, now throbbed for more until his brain filled with images of him bent over the bike and Shadow roughly entering him from behind.
“D-do you want to stay with me or not?” Gray whispered, ultimately turning his head away from the kiss.
Shadow combed back his hair and stepped away. “I do. I want to stay.”
Gray rubbed his face, taking deep gulps of the cool night air to clear his head. “Then let’s not wait. This could end up being our one chance. Do you understand that?”
That finally got Shadow’s attention. Their eyes met and Shadow nodded, letting his hands drop. “Yes, I’m sorry. I’ll do my best.”
For this plan to work, they would have to keep their distance inside. He briefly explained to Shadow how he should act in the strip club, and then they rode down the road and parked in front of the lone building across from the liquor store which had already closed for the night.
For the purpose of staying on the down-low, Gray left his cut in the saddlebag, but once he stepped inside the joint and the dull rhythm drummed in his ears, he felt naked without it.
Cherries was the kind of place where he and Shadow immediately stood out as outsiders. Not just because they were dressed more tidily than the few patrons Gray saw peppered around the room, but the way eyes darted their way suggested the bar catered mostly to regulars. At 3 a.m on a Monday, that wasn’t particularly surprising.
Gray’s first instinct was to approach the bar instead of watching the single dancer rub her bikini-clad body against the pole, but he then decided they would have more privacy near the stage and ended up making his way there instead. On his way, he walked through clouds of an intensely sweet smell that was masking unpleasant odors, but one could only put so much perfume on a skunk.
The neon lights created the illusion of glamour, but Gray had seen too many such establishments with the bright glow gone in favor of regular lamps to be fooled. The chairs were cheap and around Gray’s own age. The striped curtain draped above the bar to create an air of excess snowed dust on anyone passing, and the three stairs leading to the podium where the dancer worked were covered in the same cheap carpeting as the floor. The place was dirty and likely didn’t make most of its cash in the business that was officially conducted here.
They had barely sat in front of the dancing woman when a waitress clad in the tightest neon shorts and a matching bra approached them about their orders. They got beers, even though Gray wasn’t planning on drinking. He had to watch out for Shadow, since he’d only been alive for a little bit over a month and wouldn’t have a high tolerance for alcohol.
Shadow sat on a stool next to Gray but was obviously distracted by the new place. Soon enough, someone would notice that the newcomer wasn’t paying attention to the tits in front of him. And that would mean trouble.
Gray leaned closer, clearing his throat. “Do you like the dancer?” he asked, keeping his eyes on the scantily-clad woman.
She wasn’t much to look at—on the thin side, with cheekbones that were too prominent to be considered healthy in appearance. There was little energy to her movements, as if she’d been doing this for hours and was starting to run out of steam.
Shadow’s attention was instantly back on Gray, so at least there was that. “Do you dance?”
Gray’s heart might have skipped a beat when Shadow smiled. Even in this dirty, unpleasant place, his presence was the flicker of light Gray needed.
“No, but you can imagine it’s me up there. We need to look interested in what she’s doing,” he whispered, nodding at the woman with feigned appreciation when she slid down the pole, spreading her legs wide so that the metal rod was on show against her crotch.
Shadow turned his gaze to the stage and the smirk on his pretty lips made Gray want to shake his head. Even now, when their life—or at least their health—was at stake, Shadow remained his cheerful self. Was this what a life with Shadow at his side would look like? A stream of joy and pleasure with a man so focused on him that no-one and nothing else mattered?
Yet, despite feeling so close to him, there were still so many things Gray didn’t understand about his new lover. Perhaps even many Shadow didn’t understand about himself either.
“If this was a different woman, would you enjoy looking at her, or do you only like men?” Gray whispered.
Shadow kept his eyes on the stage, but his expression became thoughtful. “I don’t think I understand the question.”
Gray cleared his throat and leaned even closer. “Well… what type of people do you find attractive? What made you excited when you watched the movies Joker showed you?”
Shadow chewed on his lip. “When I thought of doing all those things with you. I mean… the ones that didn’t involve a vagina, since neither of us has one.”
Gray frowned at how convoluted it all sounded. “So… you’re gay like me. Makes sense. What did you like the most?” he asked, wanting to get more information about Shadow’s sexuality. He wanted to make things fun for him. Even the dick pizza thing wasn’t entirely off the table, if Shadow really wanted to try that again. Gray could compromise.
Shadow’s gaze on him was almost as intense as being licked. “I liked seeing fucking, sucking, fingers going in and out. The way bodies can connect and slide into each other. But watching is nothing in comparison to having you. Watching was like pleasure that only built up in me and couldn’t find a way out.”
Gray snorted and offered the dancer a bill when she walked past them to dance on the other pole mounted on the elongated platform. “Some of them must have made you come easier than others.”
Shadow frowned. “I only come with you. Even thinking about you isn’t enough.”
Gray blinked, so surprised he took his eyes off the dancing woman and stared straight at Shadow. “What? You don’t jerk off?” he asked, lowering his voice halfway into the sentence.
“Is that a bad thing? I mean… I’ve tried but I can’t finish, so I gave up.”
Gray barely contained the tenderness in his heart. Instead of putting his arm around Shadow and pulling him in, he paid the waitress, who thankfully chose this moment to approach them with their beers. Her presence gave him a few precious moments to rethink what he was going to say.
“No… it’s not bad, unless it’s unpleasant for you.”
“Being stuck in a basement without seeing your face for what feels like forever is unpleasant. Not being able to come without you just means I can never lose you.”
Gray swallowed the tightness in his throat and held himself back from squeezing Shadow’s knee. With his eyes once again pinned to the flesh on show, he sipped the watered-down beer, frantically thinking of things he should say. Shadow’s absolute dependence on him was a sad thing, and he felt like the worst person alive for kind of enjoying the notion that this man would never leave, never get bored of him.
“I promise there will be many opportunities for you to come from now on. But I don’t think you should tell this to anyone.”
Shadow blinked. “Why not?”
Once again, Shadow’s innocence slapped Gray in the face. No matter how physically strong Shadow was, he was Gray’s to protect. Unaffected by theories on how men should and shouldn’t be, Shadow could unwittingly provide bullets to those willing to harm him.
“Because they might laugh at you.”
“Why?”
Gray sighed, keeping his hands away from his lover with pure willpower. “Because men are precious about their erections. And it’s not like anyone needs to know what we do in private.”
A toothy grin erupted on Shadow’s face. “We can do many private things now. I love you so much,” he whispered, but Gray noticed Shadow’s hand hovering all too close to him, so it was time to cut the cotton candy sweet moment and implement stage two of their plan.
“I’d rather go home soon than spend the night here. How about we do the work now? I’ll take care of your body.”
Shadow nodded, but he must have been thinking about a different kind of ‘taking care’ because for a while he just sat there until Gray raised his eyebrows expectantly.
