  Foreword

  Hi!

Thanks for choosing to read my book.

I’d like to start with saying this is not a fluffy book in the slightest. It’s dark, and by that, I mean it has themes that some readers will find upsetting. The main character is an asshole, but there is a HEA. If in doubt, leave this and go and read something else. I have fluff!

  So, including, but not limited to these warnings;

  Miscarriage

  Abuse

  Blackmail

  Drug addiction

  Prostitution

  Dubious consent

  Bullying

  Violence

  BDSM themes

  Drugs (distribution/selling)

If I’ve missed any, please let me know.

  I’m nodding off again.

  In class.

It didn’t help that my teacher was so fucking boring he made an interesting subject like History dull as fuck.

I rested my head on my hands, allowing my eyes to close for a minute when the bell rang.

Wait, I slept through the whole class?!

  Shit.

Stretching my arms above my head, I suppressed a yawn.

I needed to sleep at night.

“Yo. Food.” Hunter clapped his hands on my shoulders, moving me toward the canteen.

Hunter nudged me as we entered, nodding at the corner table to where a girl sat on her own, scribbling away on a notepad in front of her.

  “You should speak to her.”

I gave Hunter a look that told him what I thought of that idea, and he shrugged, licking his lips as he checked out the food.

  “Pizza and fries.”

I zoned out, allowing my gaze to fall on the girl once more.

Shoulder-length brown hair that fell in waves, hiding her face from me.

  But I knew it well.

  I knew everything about her.

  Nicole Harrington.

  My stepsister.

She looked up, her glasses sliding down her nose as she jabbed at them, her eyes narrowing as they focused on me. Finally, a guy stopped by her table, and she looked up with a smile. It was my buddy, Kaden.

“Why is he talking to her?” I muttered, paying for my food.

Hunter laughed. “Talking to Nicole? He’s probably being polite.”

Kaden glanced over at me, giving me a nod before turning his attention back to Nicole.

Nicole played with her earring, smiling and blushing as Kaden teased her.

“Kaden!” Hunter roared, sending me a wink. “Food.”

Kaden lifted an eyebrow, muttering something to Nicole before striding toward us with annoyance.

“What are you doing, talking to Nicole?” I demanded as we walked to our usual table.

Kaden rolled his eyes, glancing back at Nicole.

  “Wolfe. She’s your sister.”

“Stepsister,” I corrected him, dropping onto a chair with a sigh. “Thanks to my fucking father.”

Hunter grinned, ramming a slice of pizza in his mouth.

“To be fair, though, her mom is pretty hot—”

I shot him a look, and he made a face.

  “Don’t.”

Kaden gazed over at Nicole, then glanced back at me.

  “Have you seen her naked?”

I closed my eyes in response, wondering why my friends were such assholes.

Then again, the thought wasn’t too bad…

“Nah. So what time is the party tonight?”

Kaden narrowed his eyes at me.

  “When we get there.”

Hunter ate like a pig while Kaden stared at Nicole over my shoulder.

  “I’d fuck her.”

“Who?” I arched a brow at him.

  “Your sister.”

“Go and fuck her then,” I said dismissively. “As long as I don’t have to talk to her, I don’t give a shit.”

Kaden grinned, leaning back into his chair. “Uh oh, there’s Michelle.”

Michelle Horton, my ex-girlfriend of about ten months. Boring and clingy. Then I fucked some hottie at a party, and she found out.

“Another thing I don’t give a shit about,” I declared, shrugging my shoulders.

“Man, you’re an asshole,” Hunter said through a mouthful of food.

  “I aim to please.”

It bothered me how Kaden continued to stare over my shoulder, so I called him out.

“What the fuck are you staring at?”

“Your sister. I bet behind those glasses and baggy clothes; there’s a hot chick waiting to be banged.”

Kaden made a face before biting down on his fist.

“Prick,” I muttered, refusing to follow his gaze.

I knew what she looked like; I had to see her every fucking day.

“I’d rather fuck her mom,” Hunter said thoughtfully, and I groaned.

“There’s more pussy than those hags. I’ll help you find some tonight,” I promised, rising to my feet.

Kaden looked with interest behind me, and I turned, looking down to see Nicole hovering near me.

“What?” I snapped, annoyed that she was speaking to me in public.

I didn’t owe her shit, even if I was legally related to her.

Damn, she could be my blood sister, and I’d still fucking ignore her.

“Wolfe.” Nicole dragged her hand through her hair, so it flipped over her shoulder. Her wide eyes stared at me from behind her glasses, and I cursed her for being so fucking sexy beneath it all.

  Fucks sake.

“Mom said you’d give me a ride after school.”

I stared down at her, my jaw clenching.

Her eyes flickered with something, and it looked like fear, but she jutted her chin out in the bratty way she did.

“So?” I shrugged, crossing my arms.

Nicole took a step back, her eyes darting to Hunter and Kaden, who were now standing beside me.

“Hey, sweetheart.” Kaden stared down at Nicole, who licked her lips, glancing back to where Michelle stood waiting by the door.

“Hi.” Nicole forced a smile before looking back at me. “So, where shall I meet you?”

Kaden glanced at me with surprise, and I scowled at Nicole.

  “I’m busy.”

Kaden went to say something, but I stopped him, walking backward as Nicole frowned.

  “But—”

“I told you I’m busy. Fuck off.” I waved her away with my fingers as sniggers echoed around the room.

Nicole’s cheeks burned as she stared at me, backing away with her books clutched to her chest.

  “I’m telling Mom.”

I strode away without answering her.

What could her fucking Mom do? She could suck my dick.

A cute brunette eyed me from the table near the door, and I looked her up and down as she bit her lip. She twirled her finger around her hair, and I smirked.

  Bingo.

“What are you doing after lunch?” I leaned on her table, staring at her titties.

“Nothing,” she breathed, her eyes fluttering as I imagined her on her knees.

  Right answer.

  Two

  Nicole

  Of course, it was raining.

Michelle apologized to me as she climbed into her brother’s car, safe from the rain.

It was alright for her—her brother cared about her.

But my piece of shit stepbroth er wouldn’t care if I lived or died.

I buttoned up my coat, cursed myself for not bringing an umbrella, and started walking in the direction of the nearest bus stop, miles away.

I used to live close by, but that was before Mom met Jason Knight, and my whole world was turned upside down.

The wind whipped around me as I put my head down, trying to avoid being splashed by the traffic slicing through the deep puddles in the road.

A car slowed, and I groaned inwardly, praying it wasn’t some psycho-murderer.

  “Nicole? Is that you?”

I sighed with relief at the familiar voice and crouched down to see Liam Stone peering at me.

“Hey.” I waved awkwardly, standing in the rain as he leaned over, opening the door.

  “Want a ride?”

I didn’t hesitate—Liam had been in my classes last year before he’d left for college, and he lived close to my new house too, which was a bonus.

I dropped into the seat gratefully, tugging off my steamed-up glasses as I sighed.

Liam glanced at me before easing the car back into the traffic, his strong jawline more defined than it was the last time I saw him up close.

Hell, his whole physique was different. He’d bulked up, and he looked good.

“Are you crazy?” Liam mumbled, switching the wipers on full pelt. “It’s bad out there. Anything could’ve happened to you.”

“I know. I was walking to the bus stop, but you know how far it is.”

  Liam frowned.

“Why didn’t you ride home with Wolfe?”

I made a face as I stared out of the window.

  “He was busy.”

Liam didn’t say anything, but his gaze hardened.

“Listen, you shouldn’t be walking home alone in the rain. Couldn’t you catch a ride with anyone else?”

“No, Liam. Look, I’m grateful for the ride, but can you drop the lecture, please? I’ve had a long day.” I exhaled, cringing at my outburst. “I’m sorry.”

Liam shrugged, glancing at me again.

“It’s cool. Hey, I’ve got a way you can make it up to me if you want to, that is?”

I cleaned my glasses on my wet shirt, pushing them back on before looking at Liam.

  “Oh?”

Liam was hot; there was no denying that. A college guy, no less, and a decent one. He was also a neighbor, and I’d had a few classes with him…he seemed decent enough.

“Come to a party tonight. Bring your friends.”

My eyes widened, a nervous laugh escaping my throat. “I don’t think so; as I said, I’ve had a long day.”

Liam glanced at me again, his blue eyes holding mine captive briefly.

“Come on; it’s in our neighborhood. You could walk.”

“Yeah?” I perked up at this. I didn’t mind going if I could leave and walk home. “Where?”

  “You know Jagger, right?”

Of course. Who didn’t know Jagger Knox? He was the son of a famous actress, so cool he didn’t need to go to school. Also best friends with my dickhead stepbrother.

  “Yes.”

“Okay, well, it’s there. His parents are out of town.”

Liam slowed the car as we reached a set of lights, and he turned to look at me properly.

  “So what do you say?”

A horn blared behind us as his eyes flickered to the rearview mirror, letting out a chuckle.

“Still got those pretty green eyes, Nicole.” Liam smiled as he drove me home, and I felt warm despite my soaked clothes.

“Thank you,” I whispered, sending a text to Michelle.

I wanted to be at that party tonight.

Sometime later, Liam pulled up at the end of my drive, cutting the engine as he jumped out of the car.

“What are you doing?” I asked, my brow furrowing with confusion.

Seconds later, my door opened, and Liam held an umbrella over my head, getting soaked in the process.

“Keep it.” Liam grinned, closing the passenger door behind me. “Or bring it to the party later.”

Liam winked at me and stopped before climbing into his car. “I’ll message you the address.”

Our eyes locked before he climbed back in the car, and even the rain couldn’t wash my smile away.

The umbrella saved me from the rest of the rain, and I shook it out when I walked into the huge house I now called home, leaving it on the floor to dry out.

Michelle would be here in a few hours, so I had time to get some food and a long, hot shower.

I made a sandwich, eating it while watching reruns of Friends on the cinematic screen in our front room.

You could call it a front room; it was four times the size of our previous one and filled with such pretentious junk I barely spent any time there.

Deep bass thudded through the upper level of the house, and I rolled my eyes.

  Fucking Wolfe.

Mom wasn’t home—she was on a ‘date night’ with Jason.

  Like most nights.

I sighed, stacking my plate in the dishwasher before dragging my backpack up the stairs. I turned left at the landing, making my way toward my wing of the house.

  Yup, wing.

It was pretty cool to have a walk-in closet and a full bathroom to yourself, not to mention a bedroom that took up half of the wing.

But the Devil himself shared this floor with me, and I’d rather live in a box than here with him.

  Wolfe Knight.

The reason I was soaked, but also the reason Liam had asked me out tonight, I thought with a grin, stripping off my wet clothes. Then, dumping them into the laundry basket, I wrapped myself in my robe and headed for the bathroom.

  Three

  Wolfe

The smoke swirled above me, and I inhaled again, waiting for the calm to hit me.

Cigarettes weren’t cutting it tonight, but if I touched anything harder and Dad found out, I’d be out on my ass.

Dad had connections, both above and underground. If he didn’t support me—he’d make sure no one did. The great Jason Knight.

I shouldn’t complain, really—I had everything a guy could want, but he never let me hear the end of it.

Ever since I’d been busted for drugs, Dad had breathed down my neck like a fucking dragon on speed.

  But fuck it.

It wasn’t time to dwell on that shit, it was Friday night, and I wanted to bury my face in a pair of tits again and hopefully get some decent head.

I sat up when I heard footsteps creaking on my floor, and I smirked to myself.

  She’s home.

My little stepsister was home, and I bet she was soaked and angry.

I wanted to see it. Breathe in her fury and tears.

I swung my legs off the bed, jamming my smoke into the ashtray. As I crossed the hallway, sweet shampoo and shower gel scent greeted my nostrils.

  Strawberry. Of course.

Such a fucking good girl. She wouldn’t know what to do with a dick if it was rammed down her throat.

I stopped by the bathroom door, twisting the knob, so it slid open, giving me a crack to peer through.

At first, it was too steamy to see, but I nudged the door open some more with no real agenda other than to see her naked.

Maybe I could take a photo and send it to Kaden. He wanted to see her naked.

A soft moan filled the air, and I stilled, tilting my head to the side.

  Is that her?

A sharp inhale followed another moan, and my eyes adjusted to the room as the steam left through the open door.

I could see her through the glass panel, her head thrown back as she moaned, her wet hair sticking to her as she bit down on her lip.
